LBL Hair Care Tips

How to care for LBL hair extensions and Units

To maintain the beauty and longevity of your LBL hair extensions and units, follow these simple care tips:

Apply Coconut Oil: Lightly moisturize your hair extensions 1-2 times weekly with coconut oil.

Wear a Silk Head Wrap: Protect your hair at night by wearing a silk head wrap.

Washing: Use warm water and gently scrub your units, bundles, clip-ins, frontals, and closures when washing.

Conditioning: Rinse thoroughly with warm water to ensure all conditioner is removed.

Brushing/Combing: Avoid excessive brushing or combing to prevent wear and tear, ensuring your extensions last longer.

When applying a Closure and Closure unit

When Applying a Closure or Closure Unit:

1. Gluing the Wig Cap:

Place the wig cap on your head, ensuring all natural hair is tucked in, about 1.5 cm from your hairline.

Warning: Never apply glue directly to your skin or hairline as it can cause hair loss or skin damage.

Slightly pull the front of the wig cap forward and down, ensuring a comfortable fit. This step helps with easier removal and a secure fit.

Apply wig cap glue spray around the hairline (only on the wig cap). Warning: Never apply glue directly to your skin or hairline.

Blow dry for 5-10 minutes until semi-dry.

Cut off about 1.5 cm of the elastic band, ensuring the hair is tucked away from the hairline.

2. Cutting Lace on a Closure Unit:

Ensure the wig cap is glued down securely and all hair is tucked into the cap.

Position the closure unit on your head and use sharp pinking shears to gently cut the lace into two sections.

Cut the lace along the center of your forehead for better application.

3. Applying the Closure Unit:

Apply dots of lace adhesive glue along the forehead (on the wig cap, not on the hairline). Warning: Never apply glue directly to the skin.

Blow dry for 5-10 minutes until the adhesive is semi-dry.

Place the closure unit on top of the adhesive and blow dry again for 10-15 minutes for a stronger hold.

Use styling strips around the hairline for a flat finish, leaving them on for 10-15 minutes before styling.

When Applying a Frontal and Frontal unit

1. Gluing the Wig Cap:

Use the “Bald Stocking Cap” method, carefully cutting holes for your ears. This ensures the frontal unit lays flat.

Apply glue spray around the hairline (1.5 cm away from the hairline) on the wig cap. Blow dry for 10-15 minutes until dry.

Cut off the excess elastic from the wig cap.

2. Cutting Lace on a Frontal Unit:

Position the frontal unit on your head and cut the lace into 3-4 sections using sharp pinking shears.

Cut the frontal lace along the hairline for a precise fit.

3. Applying the Frontal Unit:

Apply small dots of adhesive glue along the forehead on the wig cap (near the natural hairline). Warning: Never apply glue directly to your hairline or skin.

Use a flat tool (like a popsicle stick) to smooth the adhesive along the hairline.

Blow dry for 5-8 minutes until the adhesive is semi-clear.

Place the frontal lace onto the adhesive and blow dry for 10-15 minutes for a stronger hold.

Use styling strips around the lace to ensure a flat finish. Leave them on for 10-15 minutes before removing and styling.

Removal of Frontal/Frontal Unit and Closure/Closure Unit

To Remove: Gently rub the lace with coconut oil, lukewarm water, and 70% alcohol to loosen the lace. Warning: Do not rub too hard, as this can damage the skin, hair, and lace.

Carefully slide the unit away from your forehead until it’s completely removed.
